Local arts organisation Letting in the Light were commissioned to make a series of handmade wax resist on silk panels that light up at night and were installed in windows of Newcastle Library.

To go alongside the large panel 50 smaller panels on frames were made for the community.

People received a hand printed bag with a Back to the Barracks book, a framed silk panel, window suckers and micro fairy lights to enable them to put the frame in their windows to light up the dark nights.

Recipients were asked to share photos of the panels using the hashtag #barrackslights
