Tattoo artist Kyle Cartlidge, whose business is based in the Barracks, and Artist/Curator Siobhan Mcaleer were approached to design an item to give out at the final event. It was agreed that their work would, similarly to the Barracks Songs, appeal to a completely different audience than would usually engage with heritage and the Barracks.

They decided on the concept of old fashioned Lucky Bags where you had a bag with surprise items in.
Kyle designed a set of temporary tattoo flashes, Barracks stickers and hand drawn portraits of people who had been interviewed about their memories.

Siobhan painted a series of abstract of building features of the Barracks, that were turned in to sets of postcards, and a hand drawn activity book with puzzles created that related to the Barracks. Each bag was individually made and stitched. 150 bags were packed and given out to the public.

As well as the original artworks by Kyle and Siobhan, the bags contained the History of the Barracks Book, the Barracks Poems book, a project information leaflet and a Staffordshire Soldier postcard with paints and brushes, that had been given out at the Button Making Workshop for people to paint at home.
