In September 2019, the ghost photographer of the Barracks was on hand telling people about the building and taking their photos while dressed up in Victorian costume.

People were also able to take photos of the Barracks and project them to created a projection collage of building photos.  

In September 2021, the Barracks worked in partnership with the Unitarian Meeting House in Newcastle to run the Army Button workshops for the day.

Previous recipients of National Lottery Heritage funding, the Meeting House were pleased to have an activity happening that gave them chance to open the building and show people around and to have made a new connection with the Barracks for the future.
